Despite his generally underwhelming form this season, Real Madrid do seem more complete with a number nine in the side, even if it is the form of the attacking midfield players which benefits rather than Benzema directly. The 23-year-old is set to return up front against Real Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday evening and, with Real Madrid now actively and openly seeking another striker in the transfer market (Ruud van Nistelrooy is purportedly the first choice), Benzema is running out of time to prove his worth to this team.
